Each company in the Ishii group cooperates with each other in dealing chick, chicken, incubators, operating subsidiary companies overseas and international trading.

3. Houses and facilities for livestock/horse/pets, animal welfare

As the demand of trading increased, I.P.Tsusho Co.,Ltd. launched into the global business market in 1991. Affiliation with major companies in the international poultry industry has led us to develop innovative business mainly with houses and raising facilities, with a hope to improve health standards of pets and livestock.

The world Organization for Animal Health (OIE) adopted animal welfare standards in May, 2005. This is believed to be the first international regulations in four categories : the live transport of animals by land, the live transport of animals by sea, the slaughter of animals for food, and the slaughter of animals to prevent the spread of disease. Additional animal welfare standards on houses and management for raising animals are expected to be adopted by 2010.

The animal welfare-related work is becoming more and more important. The organization started dealing with poultry farming to the amount of 500 million yen with only 10 employees in 1984. Now the group has 140 people engaged in the animal welfare-related work in the field of raising facilities of animals (poultry, cattle, horse, pig, dog and cat) of 4 billion yen. After the adoption of the animal welfare standards in 2010, the housing situation for the pets and livestock will be expected to improve significantly. Considering the recent trend of time, we play an important role as a trader of animal products in the Ishii group.

In our company, five young staff have lead the team in order to demonstrate their ability by retaining the spirit of “liberty and independence” in each field; horse/livestock, pets, organic products, group, trading.
